LAHORE, June 17: Sultan Ahmad, a fireman of the City District Government fire brigade, has been given the National Hero Award 2003 by the National Commission for Human Development constituted by the federal government.
Commission chairman minister of state Dr Nasim Asjraf conferred the award on Sultan Ahmad at a ceremony held at the Alhamra Art Centre here on Tuesday. He was also given a cash reward of Rs10,000.
He has also received certificates from the deputy commissioner and the chief corporation officer for risking his life during fire-fighting operations during his 27-year service. — Reporter
