BADIN, June 17: The tail-end growers of Karo Ali Wah Bahar sub-division, Kadhan, complained about the water shortage and have demanded the immediate transfer of all the officials of Kadhan sub-division involved in selling water to influential landlords.

Narrating their grievances to journalists on Tuesday, several growers, including Zulfiqar Khwaja, Ashiq Ali Memon and Abdul Ghaffar Bhurgari, said that the irrigation authorities had allowed the feudal lords for tampering with their modules and installing unauthorized pipes as a result of which they were not getting any water.

They accused the sub-division officials for the shortage of water in their area.

They said they had complained many times to the irrigation officials regarding the water theft but in vain.

THUNDERSTORM: A thunderstorm hit Badin district on Monday. Some of the villages including Shadi Large, Rehmaki Bazaar and areas adjacent to Thar district received rainfall bringing relief to the people from the scorching heat of summer.
