KARACHI, June 16: Former world number one Jansher Khan will conduct various coaching clinics in different European countries later this summer.
Jansher, who won a record eight World Open titles, said on Monday that he will hold the clinics in Austria, England and Germany during July and August this year.
The clinics are a part of Jansher’s sponsorship deal with Head - the Austrian-based manufacturers of sports gear.
Jansher, one of the most successful squash players of all time, quit professional squash after making an unsuccessful comeback to the international circuit last year.
However, he intends to continue holding coaching clinics and play exhibition matches around the world in the coming years.
“I may have decided to quit the professional circuit but that does not mean that I am out of squash. My affiliation with squash will continue for the rest of my life,” he said.
The six-time British Open champion said that comprehensive treatment and exercise has helped him overcome the knee injuries that forced him out of the circuit after having remained there for a record ten years as the world No. 1 player.
But Jansher ruled out any more attempts to join the world squash circuit in the future.
“I have made all out efforts to become the world number one players again in the past and do not intend to continue them in the future.”—PPI
