LONDON, June 16: Hackers broke into the website of Britain’s ruling Labour Party on Monday to insert a picture of President George Bush carrying his dog with Prime Minister Tony Blair’s head imposed on it.

Party officials removed the offending picture from the website before 10 a.m., but the BBC later carried it on its website.

Labour Party headquarters in London declined to comment on the incident. Blair has regularly been depicted as Bush’s poodle in British newspaper cartoons, in allusion to his commitment to assisting the US-led invasion of Iraq.—dpa
