KARACHI, June 16: Eight ships carrying fertilizer, containers and crude oil are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow where three ships, Gao He, to unload and load containers, Stolt Lily to offload tallow and Andreea to load molasses were berthed.

Two ships, Med Keelung and Nur Yanbu departed on Monday, while PONL Mahe, Orient Stride, Global Progress, Kota Waruna, Izumo, Gao He and Andreea are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Owing to larger handling of liquid cargo, the total tonnage rose to 81,211 tons comprising 14,200 tons of export tonnage and 67,011 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: APL Portugal, Sinar Bangka, Hammurabi, with containers, Tozmi, with 15,689 tons of fertilizer, Tempere, with 51 buses, Chois Samkor, with wheat for Afghanistan, Sorena, with crude oil and Northern Bell, with gas oil.
