KARACHI, June 15: Karachi Regional Academy scored convincing victories over their Hyderabad rivals in two matches played on Saturday at PCB Regional Academy Ground.
In a low-scoring first game, Karachi Academy Blues trounced Hyderabad Academy Blues by seven wickets with leg-spinner Raheel Waris (three for 33) and Asad Shafiq (48 not out) sharing the honours.
Hyderabad Academy Whites showed more grit and determination in the second match by scoring 204 for nine in their 50 overs with opener Aqeel Anjum hitting 70 off 144 balls, including 10 boundaries.
However, Karachi Academy Whites needed just 35 overs to reach their target for the loss of only two wickets. Opening batsman Mohammad Fahim led the way with a 92-ball knock of 71 which was laced with seven fours.
Talented Khurram Manzoor finished on 61 not out. His 78-ball innings was spiced with seven fours and one six.
