CCB fails to deliver

By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, June 15: The bifurcation of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has not served the purpose, as the newly formed Chaklala Cantonment Board is still defendant on the former, it is learnt.

The new cantonment was established six months ago on the basis of 40 to 60 per cent of area and population. The main reason stated for the bifurcation was to reduce burden on Rawalpindi Cantonment which, according to the cantonment authorities, had too large an area to control and provide all facilities. It is due to failure of Chaklala Cantonment Board authorities to properly address to the people’s problems that Rawalpindi Cantonment is terribly over-burdened.

Most of the development plans and other things of the new cantonment are still being prepared by the Rawalpindi Cantonment. Not only this, many of the facilities are still in common use of both the cantonments. These are water supply system, fire brigade and taxation department etc.
