Panic in Cantt

Published June 16, 2003

LAHORE, June 15: A firecracker blast created panic in the Cantonment area on Sunday night.

“The firecracker dumped close to a vacant plot exploded and caused panic,” the Cantt SP said.

Residents in nearby localities took it a bomb blast and ran helter-skelter. However, police rushed to the spot and calmed down the people by assuring them that there was no bomb blast.

The Bomb disposal squad and officials from the civil defence also rushed to the scene and collected samples for laboratory tests. — Reporter
