Woman held with 6kg hashish

GUJRANWALA, June 15: City police claimed on Sunday to have recovered six kilogrammes of hashish from a woman.

Official sources said the woman had brought hashish from the tribal area and wanted to smuggle it to Germany.

Sources, however, did not disclose the name of the woman.

WARRANTS: A local court issued on Saturday warrants for the arrest of a former SP and a DSP.

The local police authorities were directed to arrest the two and produce them before the court on Monday.

It is stated that former SP CIA Abdul Majid Khan and Kamoki former DSP Muhammad Sarwar were summoned to record their evidences in a murder case but they reportedly failed to appear before the court.

Meanwhile, warrants for the arrest of two SHOs were issued for not appearing before a court with records of criminal cases. The police authorities were directed to produce them before the court on Monday.

SUSPENDED: An inspector was suspended from service by the DIG while a constable was dismissed from service by the district police officer on Sunday.

A police spokesman said Naushera Virkan SHO Inspector Ali Asghar was suspended from service for his failure to control crime in the area. Inspector Asghar has been sent on one-month compulsory leave and Inspector Tahir Majid has been made Naushera Virkan SHO.

The DPO suspended from service Constable Yasin who killed a woman for resisting search at Gulshan Colony some two weeks ago.

The constable was found guilty in an inquiry.
