Sikandar warns against agitation

By Our Staff Correspondent

MUZAFFARABAD, June 15: AJK Prime Minister Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan on Saturday accused opposition People’s Party of being enemy of democracy and democratic system, and made it clear that no one would be allowed to create lawlessness in the state under any pretext.

“The People’s Party people are terrorists and enemies of democracy and democratic system. But we will not let them run politics of sticks and agitation in the peaceful region of Azad Kashmir,” said the prime minister at a gathering organized by the Muslim Conference here.

Sardar Sikandar was alluding to the call of People’s Party Azad Kashmir (PPAJK) to encircle the Legislative Assembly on June 21, when the house meets for the budget session, to protest against what it alleges Sardar Sikandar’s support for the division of Kashmir.

“Let it be clear to the opposition that the ruling party members in the assembly are not wearing bangles. We will not allow anyone to take law into hands on the pretext of protest,” he said.

The premier asked Islamabad to take “notice that from where the people creating unrest in Azad Kashmir were getting instructions.”
