Nawab XI gain full points

KARACHI, June 14: Nawab XI scored full points for the first time in the KASB Premier League when Mohammad Ashraf slammed home a second half penalty kick to help his side beat Usmanabad Union at Usmanabad Stadium on Saturday.

Nawab XI might have gone ahead in the 12th minute but Abdul Jabbar wasted a perfect Nisar Ahmad Sr pass. Usmanabad Union’s Mohammad Ali Sr and Mohammad Ali Jr came more near scoring more than once in the first half, but missed the target each time.

Liaquat China also squandered a chance for Usmanabad Union in the 46th minute.

Ashraf converted the 62nd-minute spot kick after his teammate Nisar Ahmad Jr was fouled by Usmanabad Union defender Rashid Abdullah in the goal area.

Mohammad Ashraf of Nawab XI was declared the player of the match.

Sunday’s fixtures:

Baloch Mohammadan v Mekran Sports at CDGK; Pakistan Petroleum v Aga Khan Gymkhana at AKG ground.
