SUKKUR, June 14: One of the 12 accused involved in the killing of Sibi DIG Abdul Aziz Bullo has been killed in the ongoing operation against outlaws on the Sindh-Balochistan border, the Inspector-General of Police, Sindh, Syed Kamal Shah, said here on on Saturday.

Sindh IGP Kamal Shah, while talking to this correspondent, said taht 11 accused persons were still at large, three of whom — Zafroo Bugti, Dabo Hangwani Bugti and Sardaro Nandwani —, were hiding in Sindh.

He said to arrest the accused, the Sindh Police had launched an operation in RD-44, near the Shahi Wah, and arrested more than 30 suspects, besides bulldozing 25 houses and recovering a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from the houses. He said the operation would continue till the outlaws were arrested.

Talking to this correspondent on telephone, Balochistan IG Shoaib Saddle said all the 12 persons involved in the killing of the DIG had been identified.

He said the police had busted many a hideouts of bandits in the operation.

Meanwhile, speaking at a press conference at the Sukkur Airport on Saturday evening, Sindh IG Syed Kamal Shah said operation against outlaws on the Sindh-Balochistan border was proving fruitful and several hideouts had been bulldozed.

He said there was no question of suspending the operation and it would continue till the target was achieved.

Sindh home secretary Syed Anwar Haider was also present on the occasion.

The IG said personnel of the Frontier Constabulary, rangers and other para-military forces were assisting the Sindh police. He said the Balochistan police was also providing necessary cover along the 120-kilometre-long border.

He said vehicles used in the killing of the Sibi DIG had been recovered by the police.

He claimed that the three accused hiding in Sindh were also involved in the Kashmore carnage, in which 14 people were killed about two months back, and kidnapping of the sub-engineer of the Gudu Barrage, Javed Ahmad Tabani.

Mr Shah hinted at deputing a force of 200 Jawans at the border area on permanent basis, besides establishing 60 check posts, to curb criminal activities.

Informed police sources of Sindh and Balochistan said more than 200 outlaws had been arrested during the last three days in the operation.
