LAHORE, June 14: Former caretaker prime minister Malik Meraj Khalid was laid to rest at his native village Dera Chahal on Saturday.

His funeral prayers were offered at the Bagh-i-Jinnah.

Governor Khalid Maqbool, Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi, former presidents Farooq Leghari and Rafiq Tarar, PPP leaders Jehangir Badr, Qasim Zia, Aitzaz Ahsan, senators Dr Khalid Ranjha and Muhammad Ali Durrani and a large number of people from various walks of life offered the prayers.

Qul will be held at 29 Lakshami Mansion, Hall Road, at 4pm on Sunday (today). Dua will be offered at 6:45pm. — Staff Reporter
