Top teams for AJK tourney

MUZAFFARABAD, June 13: All Pakistan Mujahid-e-Awwal (Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan) Hockey Tournament begins in the AJK capital from Sunday, it was announced here.

AJK Hockey Association secretary general Farooq Ashraf Awan said at a press conference that at least 12 teams including those of the Punjab, AJK, PIA, PTCL, army, banks and other national organizations will contest the tournament.

Awan, who is also organizing secretary of the event, said that the tournament had been named after former president and prime minister of Azad Kashmir and a leading figure of the Kashmir liberation movement Mujahid-e-Awwal Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan.

The winners and runnersup will receive Rs 60,000 and Rs 40,000 besides the trophies and individual prizes.
