Azadi Cup from June 22

KARACHI, June 13: The All Karachi Azadi Cup organised by the Pak Asian cricket club will commence later this month of June on various grounds in the city.

A meeting to this effect will be held on June 12th 2003 at 7-30 p.m. at the Nishtar Park ground to brief the officials of the participating teams about the rules and regulations of the tournament.

All concerned are requested to attend the meeting.

All in all 12 teams are participating in this tournament divided into two Groups which will be played on League basis. Four pools will have three teams in each pool.

Following are the participating teams:

GROUP 1:

POOL A: KGA Gymkhana, Aftab Sports, Rizwan Sports.

POOL B: Golden Boys CC, Hyderi Sports, Adamji Sports.

GROUP 2:

Pool C: St. Lawrence’s CC, Pak Flag, Hussain CC.

Pool D: W.S.CC, Al Hamra, A.C.C.A.

The inaugural match will be played on June 22, at the Nishtar Park between KGA Gymkhana and Aftab Sports from 10.a.m.

The quarterfinal rounds will be played on 20th July with the two semifinal matches to be played on 27th July.

The final will be played at the Nishtar Park on 14th Aug 2003.
