KARACHI, June 13: Sindh’s Chief Minister, Ali Muhammad Mahar, has ordered a judicial inquiry on the murder of Abdul Raziq Khan, former speaker of the Sindh Assembly, ex-deputy mayor and a PML-Q leader.

The chief minister gave this order while talking to Sindh’s General Secretary of PML-Q — Capt (Retd) Haleem Siddiqui — on Friday who had called on him at the Chief Minister’s House.

Mr Mahar also announced a grant of Rs200,000 to the family of the driver who was killed in the attack by unknown terrorists, the PML leader told Dawn.

Mr Siddiqui said the chief minister also had promised an inquiry to determine exactly who had issued instructions from the Chief Minister’s House to withdraw the security guards provided to Raziq Khan, Badar Iqbal and other PML leaders.

The chief minister gave assurances to the PML-Q leader to grant a scholarship to Raziq Khan’s son so that his educational expenses could be met.
