Police release man over gear theft


PORT-OF-SPAIN (Trinidad), June 11: Trinidad police have released a 45-year-old man who was assisting their investigations into the theft of thousands of dollars worth of cricket gear belonging to Australian cricket team.

Press reports here said the unidentified taxi-driver was released on Monday afternoon “pending further investigations” by authorities into the disappearance of the cricket gear at Piarco International airport during the Trinidad leg of the Australian tour last month.—PPI
