370 Iraqis detained

BAGHDAD, June 10: Four US soldiers were wounded by hostile fire in eastern Iraq as an infantry division launched massive search operations in which 370 people were detained, a coalition spokesman said Tuesday.

Three of the casualties from the army’s Fourth Infantry Division were flown out for treatment in Germany although their condition was not considered life threatening, the ground forces spokesman said.

He gave no details of the circumstances in which the soldiers were wounded.—AFP
