Romanian envoy visits Iqbal Manzil

By Our Correspondent

SIALKOT, June 9: Romanian ambassador Prof Dr Emil Ghitulescu, who authored two books on Allama Muhammad Iqbal, on Monday visited Iqbal Manzil, the birth place of the poet, amid tight security.

Later, during an informal talk with journalists at a local hotel Dr Ghitulescu said Iqbal’s message — love, peace and unity — was universal and guided the whole world to make efforts for peace.

He said: “Iqbal advises us not to ignore the reverence and respect of the man in the quest of the best. Self respect and self-reliance is the way of life for Allama Iqbal.”

Dr Ghitulescu gifted his books to journalists.

PADDY-SOWING: DCO Capt Zahid Saeed inaugurated the use of Parachute Technology for sowing paddy at Sahowala village in Sambrial, Daska tehsil.

Speaking to a big gathering of paddy-growers, the DCO urged them to adopt the new technique for doubling their per-acre yield.

Rain: Rain and dusty wind here on Monday broke a long spell of hot and humid conditions. Farmers have found a welcome relief in the rain.
