PESHAWAR, June 8: Nazim of Hassan Ghari-I union council Tehsinullah was shot dead on Sunday near Budnai Pul on the Charsadda Road.
He was allegedly killed by his rivals over the dispute of Charsadda bus stand contract at Budnai Pul area on Sunday morning.
Police told Dawn that Tehsinullah, 35, was accompanied by his brother Fasihullah and a companion Mukhtiar Ahmad alias Kur Lala at the time of the incident.
Fasihullah and Mukhtiar Ahmad escaped unhurt while the murderers escaped from the scene.
Fasihullah later told Daudzai police station that in May Islam Gul, son of Hasan Gul, was killed by unidentified persons. But brothers of Islam Gul, namely Zar Gul, Didar Gul and Jan Gul, suspected that Tehsinullah was involved in the murder, as they had a dispute over the contract of Charsadda bus stand for the last several months.
Fasihullah had charged Didar Gul, Zar Gul and Jan Gul in the murder case. The police were looking for the killers.
Four union council Nazims have so far been murdered in the city.
The Nazims murdered were Fayyaz Khalil, Arbab Hamayun and Malik Hamayun Khan. They had been killed during the last nine months.
