PESHAWAR, June 6: The NWFP Governor Lt Gen Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has urged the people to focus on education and proper brought up of their children which he said is a must to make them useful citizens as well as to enable them to lead a prosperous and honourable life in the days to come.

He was speaking to the people gathered during his inspection visit to various primary schools established by the Basic Education and Skill Development Trust (BEST); a non-governmental organization; at Khattak Colony, Noor Elahi Colony, Tappi, College Abadi, Mohammad Zai, Kaghazai, Barrh, and Thanda Dam villages in Kohat on Friday.

The governor was accompanied by his wife Shamim Iftikhar, who is the chairperson of the trust, said that under this organization 10 primary schools have already been successfully commissioned and sites for 10 more such schools have also been identified in the areas within the district where no such facility exists presently.

The trust, he said, has been envisaged to establish a vast network of similar educational institutions in other areas of the province with the passage of time. The educational institutions being established under this Trust; are being run with the cooperation of the community.—PPI
