Differences likely on elections

KARACHI, June 5: The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) has issued letters to 24 sports federations and associations of Sindh for elections of Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) to be held next month.

According to reliable sources there would be some disputes rising in this concern in between POA and Sindh Sports Board (SSB).

It is likely that some associations recognised by SSB would not be given the right to vote in SOA elections by the POA.

At present athletics, tae kwando, badminton and karate there are two associations working. If associations recognised by SSB are not given the right to vote in SOA elections, they will likey move to the court.

Secretary Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Khalid Rehmani has said that Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) should complete the task of holding elections at the earliest, because delay will certainly cause difficulties in holding national events.—PPI
