WELLINGTON, June 5: Paul Wiseman’s form in the recent tour to Sri Lanka helped resurrect his international career, with the off-spinner included on the list of 20 players contracted by New Zealand Cricket (NZC) for the next 12 months.

Wiseman, wicket-keeper Brendon McCullum and bowling all-rounder Kyle Mills were added to the elite contracted group while ‘keeper Chris Nevin and bowlers Paul Hitchcock and Chris Martin were removed.

The 33-year-old Wiseman has been regularly in and out of the New Zealand team since his Test debut against Sri Lanka in 1997-98. He has played only 16 Tests in a six-year period, taking 40 wickets at an average of 43. He has 12 wickets from 15 limited-overs internationals at an average of 30 with a best haul of 4-45.

Contracted players: Andre Adams, Nathan Astle, Shane Bond, Ian Butler, Chris Cairns, Stephen Fleming, Chris Harris, Robbie Hart, Matt Horne, Brendon McCullum, Craig McMillan, Kyle Mills, Jacob Oram, Mark Richardson, Matthew Sinclair, Scott Styris, Daryl Tuffey, Daniel Vettori, Lou Vincent, Paul Wiseman.—APP/AP
