Transporters march today
RAWALPINDI, June 3: Transporters have threatened to march on Parliament on Wednesday against what they called franchizing of routes initiated to benefit an individual, the owner of a private bus company.
The representatives of the the Muttahidda Transport Action Committee told reporters here on Tuesday that their protest against franchized transport scheme would remain peaceful.
The protest march will start from Marrir Chowk, Rawalpindi and passing through Murree Road, enter Islamabad and will terminate in front of the Parliament House in Islamabad.
Sultan Awan, Haji Ismail, Haji Akhtar, Shabir Bangash, Malik Shabir and other transporters warned to resist bids aimed at crushing their peaceful protest.
They accused the local administration of benefiting a private bus company and causing harm to commuters by depriving them from cheaper means of transport, for petty gains.—PPI
