RCB’s bank account frozen

RAWALPINDI, June 3: Civil Judge Hidayatullah Khan has froze the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board’s (RCB’s) bank account for recovering Rs8.9 million in accordance with a decree issued by the Supreme Court.

The judge froze the RCB’s account in National Bank’s Rawalpindi Cantonment Branch as the board failed to comply with the court orders.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had directed the cantonment board to compensate Zulfiqar Ali Shah for acquisition of his land for Ayub National Park. But the RCB did not pay the amount and adopted delaying tactics.—PPI
