KARACHI, June 3: Opposition parties in the Sindh Assembly, including Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians and the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), are planning to requisition a Provincial Assembly session in the next few days to initiate a debate on a number of issues, it is learnt.
Leaders of the PPP and the MMA in Sindh on Tuesday confirmed that adopting anew line of action, the opposition had decided to submit requisition for the Provincial Assembly session, during which issues like demolition of Baitul Hamza, the government’s alleged intervention in the NA-255 by-polls in Karachi and the deteriorating law and order situation would be raised.
The opposition parties are also considering to raise the issues of LFO , excesses against the Okara farmers and maltreatment of the opposition members in the Punjab Assembly.
The PPP and the JI are also concerned about the provincial government’s interference in the affairs of district governments. “During the coming sessions the opposition will not touch the water crisis and the NFC Award, our main concern at the moment is political instability,” a PPP leader said.—PPI
