KARACHI: Remaining bodies of lake tragedy buried

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, June 3: The remaining five bodies of the Sunday’s Keenjhar Lake tragedy were buried in the graveyard of Jafar-i-Tayyar Society on Tuesday.

The children of Naseem Abbas, a resident of Jafar-i-Tayyar Society, had not been buried on Monday because a close relative was not in the city but Parachinar.

The bodies buried on Tuesday included those of Waseem Abbas, the 14-year-old son of Naseem Abbas, and also his wife — Shamim Fatima. The bodies of his daughters, Nargis Abbas, Farhat Abbas and Raisa Abbas, were laid to rest too.

On Monday 21 bodies of the Sunday’s Keenjhar Lake tragedy had been laid to rest in Jafar-i-Tayyar and Wadi-i-Husain graveyards amid demands of stern action against the government functionaries for failing to take measures to meet emergencies.
