DADU, June 2: The SHO, Moundar police station, and three police constables were suspended on Monday by adviser to Sindh chief minister on home affairs Aftab Ahmed Shaikh for illegally arresting and torturing three men.

Sub-inspector Ghulam Sarwar Zardari with three police constables arrested Sajid Solangi, Faheem Solangi and their father Ghulam Rasool Solangi from Taufiq Colony a month ago.

The policemen subjected them to torture and released them after taking a Rs35,000 bribe.

On Monday, Mr Shaikh with DPO, operation, Ali Akbar Bhangar, DPO, investigation, Tipu Sultan, and MPA Manzoor Ahmed Leghari, raided the Moundar police station and checked the roznamcha.

They found that there was no entry or complaint against Faheem, Sajid and Ghulam Rasool in any case.

The adviser ordered the DPO operation to suspend the policemen and register an FIR against them on the charges of torture and illegal detention.

Meanwhile, Mr Shaikh paid a surprise visit to the district jail, Dadu, and inspected the barracks and wards. The prisoners complained that many of the inmates were ill.
