79 schools upgraded

By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, June 2: The district government has ordered upgradation of 79 schools, officials said here on Monday.

The officials said 11 Maktab schools had been upgraded to primary schools, 38 primary schools to middle schools, 20 middle schools to high schools, and 10 high schools to higher secondary schools.

They said these schools already had sufficient staff to run the additional classes. However, any shortage will be met after getting permission from the provincial government, he added.

The officials said a request had been forwarded to the Punjab chief minister for recruitment of more teachers.
