KARACHI: Reckless driving claims life

KARACHI, June 2: A motor mechanic was crushed to death by a recklessly driven minibus in Lyari on Monday.

Police said Sher Mohammad, 30, was repairing a vehicle, parked on Mirza Adam Khan Road in front of his workshop, when a minibus of route W-35 (JE-6397) knocked him down. Sher Mohammad suffered multiple injuries.

He was taken to Civil Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The Kalakot police arrested the bus driver, Mohammad Arif and impounded the minibus.

DIES: A man, who had been wounded in a bloody clash between two religious groups in New Karachi on May 23, died at a hospital on Monday. Identified as Abdul Ghaffar, 40, he had suffered bullet wound among ten others. The DIG Karachi Operations, Tariq Jamil, was also wounded in the clash. Besides, Farhan Rafiq, 13, died in the clash.

The armed clash had begun on possession of Rehmania mosque in Sector 11-G, New Karachi, after Juma prayers.
