KARACHI: BA Part-II results announced

KARACHI, June 2: The University of Karachi on Monday announced the results of BA Part-II (Regular and External) annual examination-2002, with a pass percentage of 55.38.

The top three positions were secured by four female candidates, including one external. In all, 15,731 candidates appeared in the exams, out of whom 8,713 were declared pass.

A student of St Joseph’s College, Sana Fatima, seat no 57288, bagged first position in order of merit by securing 760 out of 1000 marks. Her percentage remained 76.

Second position went to Yusaira Fatima Adil, seat no 57152, of DHA Degree College for Women, while third position was shared by Sabeen Fatima, seat no 57271, of St Joseph’s College and Tooba Ahmed, seat no 81662, an external candidate.

The university withheld the results of 172 candidates for want of enrolment/registration, fine or for using unfair-means or having unauthorized change of examination centres.

Senate polls: The Registrar of Karachi University, Prof Dr M A Rauf has announced that the elections of two members of KU Senate under the category of Registered Graduates will be held on June 8 at Shaikh Zayed Islamic Research Centre from 9:30am to 2:30pm.

Nine persons, contestanting for the two seats, are Suryya Rashid, Yahya Abdul Salam, Prof Mir Hamid Ali, Dr Mushtaq Noorwala, Muhammad Anwer Hussain, Syed Tajammul Hasan, Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan, Yousuf Muhammad and Syed Javed Ali.—PPI
