Punjab beat champions

ISLAMABAD, June 1: Punjab scored an important three-wicket win over defending champions Asif Memorial on Sunday in the Super-12 stage of the ICA-PTV Cricket Championship.

In what turned out to be a low scoring match, Asif Memorial could manage only 152 in 28.4 overs, Raheel Majeed topscoring with 73. Zeeshan Rasool unsettled the rival batsmen with a haul of five for 15.

Despite the low total, Punjab lost seven wickets in getting to the target as Ch. Nasir troubled them with four for 29.

Punjab bt Asif Memorial by three wkts.

Asif Memorial 152 in 28.4 overs (Raheel Majeed 73; Zeeshan Rasool 5-15, Ulfat Hussain 2-33, Adnan Suleman 2-81).

Punjab 154-7 in 33.4 overs (Abdul Rauf Mirza 29 not out; Ch. Nisar 4-29, Raheel Majeed 2-30).

NHA bt Diamond by 106 runs.
