KARACHI, May 31: Chief of World Squash Federation (WSF) Jahangir Khan said Saturday despite some difficulties, efforts are afoot for inclusion of Squash in 2008 or 2112 Olympics.

Jahangir Khan, who recently returned after attending a meeting “Sports Accord” held in Madrid (Spain) said here Saturday that around 300 delegates representing various Sports Federations of World attended the conference which deliberated various issues.

He said International Olympics Committee (IOC) has formed a committee to look into the inclusion of more disciplines in future Olympics.

He said IOC Committee will meet various officials who had applied for their sports’ inclusion in Olympics and after looking into it and long processing decide the fate of their request.

Jahangir said currently 28 disciplines are part of Olympics but he added that IOC wanted to remove a couple of unpopular sports before including new sports.

He said besides squash, golf, karate officials are also keen to include their sports in Olympics. —APP
