MINGORA, May 30: The students of government high school Matiltan took out a protest procession here on Friday against the shortage of teachers in the institution.

They came out on the streets chanting slogans against the education department officials.

The students also wanted to lock all the classrooms and school office in protest, but on the intervention of the local government representatives a six-day deadline was fixed for the posting of teachers in the school.

Though the high school is in dire need of the teaching staff, the principal himself shows no interest in coming to the school regularly.”This trend has negatively affected the school, and students had no other option, but to come out on the streets. The education authorities also do not take interest in solving their problems,” said a resident of Kalam.
