Nine die in accident

MUZAFFARABAD, May 30: Nine people, including a woman, were killed and four others critically injured in a road accident near here on Friday, officials said.

The accident occurred when a Muzaffarabad-bound passenger wagon (AJK 5987), coming from Devlain village, veered off the road near Ratra village and hit the rocky bank of River Neelum.

Officials said the river flows more than 1,000 feet below the road at the site of the accident.

Nine people, including a woman, died in the accident — six of them on the spot while three others on way to the hospital.

Seven of them were identified as Shabbir, son of Bostan; Qadeer, son of Abdul Majeed; Jamil, son of Mohammad Hanif; Mohammad Nazir, son of Mohammad Deen; Abdul Karim, son of Khalilur Rehman, Gulzar Chandi and Sahib Jan, son of Faqir Mohammad.—Staff Correspondent
