Two killed in road accident

By Our Correspondent

HARIPUR, May 29: Two brothers were killed when their tractor-trolley overturned in Pind Hasham Khan, some 15 kilometres from here, on Wednesday night.

Family sources said that Pervez and Aurangzeb, sons of Fazal Dad, residents of Bandi Mian Pirdad, Pind Hasham Khan, were on their way home after unloading their trolley in a nearby village on Wednesday night when it overturned, killing both of them on the spot.

The bodies of the victims were recovered on Thursday by the locals.

DEMAND: The Tehsil Municipal Administration has asked all pushcart owners of old bus stand to vacate the carpeted portion of the bus terminal in seven days.

Formal notices to this effect were served on the pushcart owners by the TMA on Thursday.

After the new bus stand was opened, the open space in the old bus stand was allotted to the fruit and vegetable vendors despite huge protest by shopkeepers and traders’ organizations.

Soon, a tussle began between pushcart owners and shopkeepers, who paid 10 times more tax than the former.

On the demand of shopkeepers, the tehsil council adopted a unanimous resolution asking the TMA to take back licences of all those vendors who had occupied the old bus stand.
