Cellular phone users lament poor service

By Our Correspondent

PESHAWAR, May 29: The cellular phone users have complained of poor service in various parts of the province.

The subscribers of Mobilink in NWFP are facing problems and the subscribers face disconnection of their calls, hang-ups and busy network, specially when one wants to get connected to the mobile service through land lines.

“I keep dialling the numbers and the network remains busy for hours. The calls also get disconnected in seconds,” a Mobilink subscriber complained.

The service centres also remain busy for hours and specially from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. One has to wait for hours if wants to recharge an account through pre-paid cards.

A Mobilink service centre when contacted informed that new switch board was being installed at Islamabad. As soon as it would start working, the service would improve but it would be possible by the first week of June, said Saleem, a franchisee of Mobilink in Peshawar.

“Too many connections create congestion problems which would be soon solved,” an operator of the customer service centre observed.
