Uniform made obligatory for KMC students

By Our Correspondent

PESHAWAR, May 29: Wearing of an overall and dupatta has been made obligatory for the girl students of the Khyber Medical College.

The girl students, who were already wearing an overall and dupatta, had been asked to wear an overall touching the knee.

The dress code had been introduced following the footsteps of the MMA provincial government which had made shalwar and qameez as a compulsory school uniform.

The principal of the college, Dr Ziaul Islam, who was appointed after MMA’s government came to power in the province, justifying the new dress code said that the uniform was mentioned in the prospectus of the college. Whereas the students complained that there were other things also mentioned in the prospectus which were not followed by the administration.

They said that the tuition fee was Rs3,000 according to the prospectus, but the college was charging each student Rs13,000.
