PESHAWAR, May 29: NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has urged aviation cadets to make constant endeavours to augment their professional expertise.

This, he remarked, could only be done through improvement of intellectual capability.

Speaking as chief guest at the convocation of 111 GD (P) course at the College of Flying Training, Risalpur, on Wednesday, the governor said that their “organization will provide ample opportunities to achieve this object and, therefore, they must make the best possible use of these opportunities in achieving the highest standards in their specific sphere of activity in the Pakistan Air Force.”

Aviation cadet Abbas Ali Shah lifted all the three colours — Asghar Hussain trophy for all round best performance, best in aero sciences subjects and best in humanities subjects.

In all, 21 cadets were awarded BSc degrees on the occasion.

Besides the Air Officer Commanding, Air Vice Marshal Abdul Sami Toor, Peshawar University Vice-Chancellor Syed Zulfiqar Hussain Gillani and faculty members, the ceremony was attended by the parents of the graduates.

ULEMA TEAMS: Two separate delegations of Ulema from Dir and Peshawar called on the governor here on Wednesday.

The delegation from Dir, led by MNA Maulana Asadullah, included Upper Dir District Nazim Sahibzada Tariqullah, MNA Maulana Ahmad Ghafoor Ghawas and former MNA Sahibzada Fatehullah.

In response to a point raised on the occasion, the governor said that acquisition of land for the construction of new building for the BISE (Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education) at Chakdarra was in the final stages and practical work would start shortly.

The new building, he added, would be designed keeping in view the future requirements of the area.

The delegation of Ulema from Peshawar, led by Maulana Yousaf Qureshi, Muhtamim of Jamia Ashrafia, exchanged views with the governor on the promotion of education in the city.
