ABUJA, May 29: Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo was sworn in on Thursday for a second term, but the main opposition party said it would not recognize him or his government after disputed elections.
Mr Obasanjo and his vice-president Atiku Abubakar waved to jubilant crowds in a stadium in the capital Abuja as paramilitary police wielding automatic weapons ringed the area after opposition parties threatened to disrupt the event.—Reuters
