PIC meets to debate 6-point agenda


NEW DELHI, May 27: The annual meeting of the Permanent Indus Commission (PIC) between India and Pakistan began on Tuesday to discuss various matters, particularly the finalization of arrangements for communication of flood data to Pakistan during 2003.

Syed Jamait Ali Shah, the Pakistan commissioner for Indus waters, told APP: “This is an annual meeting and we have proposed a six-point agenda to the Indian commissioner on Indus water, which is likely to be discussed at the meeting”.

He said the finalization of the annual report of permanent Indus commission for the year ended on March 31, 2003 would be finalized, inked and submitted to both governments.
