Jordan to host ME summit

AMMAN, May 27: Jordan will host a summit between US President George Bush and the Israeli and Palestinian prime ministers in the presence of King Abdullah, Jordanian Information Minister Mohammad Adwan said on Tuesday.

Mr Adwan told Petra news agency that “two summits” will be held during a visit to the region by Mr Bush.

Earlier, Egypt’s state-run news agency MENA reported that the US president would meet Arab leaders in Egypt on June 4 before seeing the Israeli and Palestinian prime ministers in Jordan the next day.

It said that King Mohammed of Morocco, King Hamad of Bahrain, King Abdullah of Jordan and Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia would attend the summit in Egypt.—AFP
