Fine knock by Sami

ISLAMABAD, May 26: A half century by Abdul Sami helped Model Town score a three-wicket win over Imran Memorial as the first phase of the ICA-PTV Cricket League came to a close.

After Imran Memorial had scored 212 in 44.5 overs courtesy of Ali Naz (78), Model Town scored the required runs in 43 overs. Akhter Gul took four for 24.

Earlier, Atif Naeem and Mushtaq Ahmed restricted Imran Memorial by capturing four wickets each.

Meanwhile, the ICA tournament committee headed by Syed Abrar Rizvi, decided the draws for the Super 12 stage which starts from Wednesday.

The 12 teams to have qualified for the Super 12 stage have been divided into two groups with Pool ‘A’ comprising Asif Memorial, Punjab, PBC, Hassan Memorial, Classic and CRA. The other pool has Diamond, Rawal Town, CDA, XI Star, NHA and King’s Gymkhana.

The top two teams from each group go through to the semifinals.
