China releases 50 Pakistanis

BEIJING, May 26: The Chinese government has recently released over 50 Pakistani prisoners.

Most of them were involved in ordinary crimes like illegal stay, drug abuse, and falcon hunting.

They have been deported to their home after remission of their sentences.

They had been languishing in various Chinese jails for the last many years.

Pakistan and China have also agreed to enter into an extradition treaty aimed at exchanging prisoners and treating them according to their own law and conditions.

A formal agreement to this effect would be signed soon. The two sides have almost approved the contents of the treaty.—APP
