LANDI KOTAL, May 25: Protesting tribal transporters blocked the Bara-Qambarkhel road at the Kohi chowk on Sunday to voice their concern over the alleged excesses of the Mehsood Scouts against truck and bus drivers.
The Khyber Union of Transporters, a representative body of bus and truck drivers, accused the Mehsood Scouts of harassing and extorting money from transporters.
A spokesmen for the transporters union alleged that the anti-smuggling force was charging Rs1,000 for every bus and truck plying on the Bara-Qambarkhel road. He alleged that even public transport vehicles were not spared.
