QUETTA, May 25: The National Accountability Court has rejected an application of a former executive engineer for a bargain deal.

The prosecution had adamantly opposed the deal following which Judge Mohammad Naeem Kakar rejected the application on Saturday.

The applicant, ex-official of PWD Fazalur Rehman, had offered the National Accountability Bureau a Rs600,000 bargain to settle down corruption reference against him.

Additional persecutor general opposing the request, submitted that the accused was facing charges of misappropriating funds amounting to Rs1.01 million, therefore the offer could not be accepted.

The court, while rejecting the request, directed that if the applicant wanted to strike a proper deal with the NAB he could file a fresh application.

Meanwhile, in another case Nasirabad Sessions Court Judge Mohammad Akbar Achakzai awarded life term to an accused in a murder case.
