WASHINGTON, May 25: The US Attorney’s office in Michigan has formed a new group called BRIDGES for promoting dialogue between Muslims and other Americans, officials said on Sunday.
Bridges stands for “Building Respect in Diverse Groups to Enhance Sensitivity.” Similar offices are also being formed in Washington and other major cities across the United States, officials said.
BRIDGES is an outgrowth of the monthly meetings held since Sept 11 between the US Attorney and local Middle Eastern and Muslim community leaders.
