ISLAMABAD May 23: National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain, who is also chairman of the 11-member joint parliamentary constitutional committee which discussed the LFO, has handed over the report of the committee to Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali.

The committee concluded its deliberations on Monday last after two-week parleys and handed over the draft of proposals prepared by the two sides to the speaker.

It was decided at the committee meeting that the speaker would compile the proposals and give it a shape of constitutional recommendations by incorporating both the points — agreed and disagreed — on the controversial Legal Frame Work Order which gives the president sweeping powers.

The speaker handed over the report to the PM at the residence of PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain here on Friday.

The report will now be discussed at a meeting of the heads of government and opposition parliamentary parties, likely to be convened by Prime Minister Jamali next week.

The committee comprised of Sen S.M.Zafar (PML-Q), MNA Syed Safwanullah (MQM), MNA Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada (NA) and MNAs Dr Sher Afgan Niazi (PPP-Patriots), Sen Justice Abdul Razzak Thaheem (PML-F) from government side while MNAs Liaquat Baloch and Hafiz Hussain Ahmed (MMA), MNA Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, Senator Sardar Latif Khan Khosa (PPP-Parliamentarians) and MNA Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan (PML-N).
