Bodybuilding competition from today

By Our Sports Reporter

ISLAMABAD, May 23: As many as 80 bodybuilders are to compete in the All-Pakistan Top 10 Bodybuilding Championship starting at the Islamabad Club on Saturday.

Jehanzeb Aziz, the president of the Pakistan Amateur Bodybuilders’ Guild (PABBG) told journalists that the two-day championship will feature bodybuilders from across the country.

The championship is a regular affair and there would be competitions in the 5ft 5”, 5ft 7” and 5ft 9” plus categories. Ahmed Sadiq, former Mr World and secretary of the PABBG will also come on the stage during the championship to show off his muscles.

Sadiq, along with two other bodybuilders is heading for Madrid this June to compete in the World Championship. In November he will be taking part in the Mr Universe contest followed by Mr Olympia event in Germany in December.

Meanwhile, Jehanzeb said that the PABBG was striving to make the sport drugs free. “This is the main mission of our guild and we are trying to create awareness among the bodybuilders of the dangers that performance-enhancing drugs pose to their bodies.”
