Woman hurt in Germany


HANOVER (Germany), May 23: A Pakistani woman was hurt on Friday when German police raided her home following an anonymous tip-off that an Islamic militant organization might be preparing to launch attacks.

The woman received bruising when police burst through the door of her home in the northern city of Hanover, one of several buildings raided after an informer told police that bomb-making materials could be found.

Police said no arrests were made and that no evidence of attacks being planned was found during the raids.—dpa
